McKinley Benton "Kenny" Reed, 84, of Nitro rested from his labors on October 19, 2014. Mr. Reed was a veteran of the US Army Air Corps. Kenny was a member of Parsons Chapel Advent Christian Church. He retired from Union Carbide after nearly 45 years of service. Preceding him in death were his wife, Louise Reed; parents, Steven B. and Grovie M. Reed; and son, David E. Reed. Survivors include his son, Michael Reed and wife, Barbara of Charleston; sister, Mary E. Reed-Starcher of Charleston; brothers, Rev. K. Linden Reed of Poca and Quenton Reed of Charleston; three grandsons; and one great grandson. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. K. Linden Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes. Friends will be received one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
