Mary Avalee Pierson Morton, 88, of Charleston, went home to be with the Lord November 28, 2012. She was employed by Superior Dry Cleaners for over 40 years and was a member of Teamsters Local #175. Mary also loved crocheting and reading. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Morton; parents; Granville and Leona Pierson; and son, Wayne Morton. Survivors include her loving daughters, Jeanie McClanahan and her husband, Terry, Pam Shaffer and her husband, Dexter and Teresa Spangler, all of Charleston; son, Charlie Morton of Charleston; sister, Florence Toler of Charleston; brother; Charles Pierson of Charleston; grandchildren; Charlie, Angel, Wade, Danielle, Sarah and James; and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Scott White officiating. Burial will follow in Pittman Cemetery, Charleston. Visitation with the family will be Saturday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
