Marvin Darrell Slater, 70, of Charleston passed away June 28, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital. He was a former employee of Wright Bachman Lumber, L.M. McCown and Son and was Carpenter's helper for Bill Martini. Surviving him are sisters, Isabelle Rust and Christine McConaha both of Dunbar, Evene Burdette of Kenna, and Roberta Kintz and her husband Earl of Hilton, New York. He is also surviving by several nieces and nephews. Graveside Services and Burial will be 2:00 PM Wednesday July 1, 2009 in the Boyd Burdette Cemetery, Charleston, with Robert Lacy officiating.
