Marilyn R. Gerencir
Marilyn R. Gerencir 82 of Charleston went home to be with the Lord March 28, 2017 at The Cedar Ridge Center.
She was a former employee of The Diamond Department Store as a Window Decorator, Graduate, Majorette and Miss. Charlestonian of Charleston High School Class of 1953. She enjoyed Decorating, Floral Arranging, was an Artist and enjoyed Drawing.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Gene Fox and Wilma Phipps and her son, Gregory M. Gerencir.
Survivors include her sons, William "Bill" L. Gerencir of Teays Valley and Jeffrey L. Gerencir and wife Kris of South Charleston; daughter, Laurie Beth Casey and husband Jerry of Kenna. Grandchildren, Christian Gerencir, Haston Gerencir, Hannah Gerencir and Ashley Casey.
Memorial Services will be 4:00 PM Friday, April 14, 2017 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Yahr officiating. A gathering of friends will be one hour prior to services.
In Lieu of Flowers the family requests memorial contributions to Kanawha Hospice Care, 1606 Kanawha Blvd. W. Charleston, WV 25387 or Kanawha Charleston Humane Association, 1248 Greenbrier Street, Charleston, WV 25311.
The family would like to thank the staff of Cedar Ridge and especially the Hospice Nurses who cared for Marilyn in her final days.
