Madeline Holly Smith Madeline Holly Smith, 79, of Sissonville, formerly of Charleston, went home to be with the Lord, January 19, 2012, at her home, surrounded by her family. Holly was a homemaker, attended Bible Baptist Church, and was a loving maw-maw. She was an avid animal lover, especially dogs. Surviving are; her husband of 60 years, Kermit A. Smith; children, Kermit Eugene Smith and wife Terry D. of Alum Creek, Becky Thaxton and husband David of Sissonville, Randy Smith and wife, Lynn of Alum Creek, and Michael Smith and wife, Barbara of Charleston; grandchildren, Kermit Kevin Smith, Cathy White, David S. Thaxton, Leslie Thaxton, Kourtney Smith, Nikki Smith and Michael Smith; seven great-grandchildren; half-brother, Romie Berry; and special nephew, Edward Moore. Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, Charleston, with the Rev. David Thaxton officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Cemetery, McCorkle, West Virginia. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.
