Obituary

Mable Ethel Fugate-Jones, 81, of Charleston, entered into eternal life with her Lord and Savior on October 9, 2013, after a long battle with cancer. She was a home maker for 63 years, and a lifelong Christian who gave of herself to others. She previously worked for Elite Laundry, Woodlawn Elementary School, Holiday Inn, prior to retiring from the Daniel Boone Hotel. Mable was born December 29, 1931, to the late Charles Fugate and Dovie J. Higginbotham-Fugate. She is preceded in death by parents, as well as her siblings: William, Gladis, Norma Gay and Ernest Carl Fugate, and grandson Johnny Allen "JJ" Jones II. Mable is survived by her husband of 63 years James D. Jones, of Cedar Ridge Nursing Home. She is also survived by her daughters Joyclyn Kay "Joy" Cummings of Charleston, Mary Lou Jones-Baldwin and husband Dennis of Charleston; son Johnny Allen Jones of Cross Lanes; Grandchildren Trenton Baldwin and wife Mandy of Charleston; April Conley and companion Todd Jones of Nitro; Kasie Macklin and husband John of Charleston; Rev. Raymond D. Stonestreet and wife Elaine of Princeton, WV; Kristy K. Robinson of Elkview. Great-grandchildren Keaton Baldwin, Ashley Stonestreet-McClanahan and husband Justin; Raymond "Little Del" Stonestreet II; Haliegh and Alexis Macklin. Also left to cherish memories of Mable are her siblings; Rosalie Kravchuck of Charleston; Jeanette Carte of Amma; Frances Casdorph of Dunbar; Ester Carpenter and husband Tom of Charleston; Ruth Garnett of Eleanor; Charles R. Fugate and wife Nancy of Montgomery; Larry E. Fugate and wife Phyllis of Ohio; Sister-in-law Mary Fugate of Charleston; Aunt Lillian Fields of Charleston; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family expresses their gratitude to the Hospice Team nurses; Holly RN, Stacy RN, and Monica RN; Pat CNA, as well as the rest of the hospice team for their care and support over the last several months. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM October 12, 2013 at Baber Agee United Methodist Church with the Rev. Raymond Stonestreet officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Pocatalico. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 PM Friday at the Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the church.
