Obituary

Lowell Jackson Carpenter went home to be with the Lord September 18, 2009 while surrounded by his family. Jackie was born March 2, 1949. He worked as an electrician by trade and helped construct the New River Gorge Bridge. He was an accomplished electrician and carpenter, and worked in various construction fields. Jackie was a Veteran serving in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lowell Grover and Wylmetti Jane Lunsford Carpenter. Surviving him are Daughters, Amy Mahala Winebrenner of Summersville, and Melissa Jan McKeny of Kannapolis, NC; Foster-Brother, Mike Lusk of Lakeland, FL; Foster-Sisters, Cindy Hall of KY, Ann Lamm of South Charleston, and Rita Carpenter Cobb of Wolf Pen. Papaw Jack was especially fond of his Grandchildren, Christian David Jones, Kaylee Jane and Alexandria Morgan McKeny, and Taylor Rose Winebrenner, and many Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins are left behind to mourn his passing. Jackie is loved and will be missed by all who knew him. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Monday September 21, 2009 at Elizabeth Baptist Church, Wolf Pen Drive, Charleston, with the Rev. Walter Means officiating. Burial will follow with Military Graveside Rites provided by American Legion Post 61 in the Carpenter Cemetery, Wolf Pen.
