Lionel O. Crowder, 72, of Charleston passed away December 26, 2010 at his residence. He was a former employee of Cleveland Plant and Flower, and Dreisbach Flower. He was born at home on 6th Street at "Grandma's Big House," and was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served on the U.S.S. Yorktown. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Owen Gray and Cornelia Dodson Crowder, and his brother, Rex Crowder. He is survived by his Loving Wife of 30 years Rebecca; Sons, Jay and Todd Crowder, both of Chicago Illinois; and Kevin Crowder of Bainbridge, Georgia; Daughter, Deborah Bender of Charleston; Brother, John Crowder of Huntington; Sisters, Shirley Goad and Emma Lou Kuhn both of Charleston; and Carrie Henderson of San Angelo, Texas. Granddaughters; Christine and Carolina Crowder, 1 Great Granddaughter, and Several Nieces and Nephews also are left to mourn his passing. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Friday December 31, 2010 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. William K. Berry officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Pocatalico. Visitation with the family will be 2 hours prior to services also on Friday.
