Celebrating the Life of a True Free Spirit: A Tribute to Linda Sue Jenkins, also known as Susie
We honor the memory of Linda, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, known affectionately in her youth as "Susie". Linda was born on March 4, 1940, in Charleston, and graced this world with her vibrant spirit until April 28, 2026, when she peacefully departed to be with our Lord.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Estell and Ada Jenkins, as well as both of her sons, Arlen Cossin Jr. and John Cossin, who now welcome her into the embrace of eternity.
She leaves behind her six daughters: Deborah Ibrahim, Palma Sharp, Charity Sheffield, Kimberly Campbell, Hope Cossin, and Tiffany Cossin. Her legacy continues to flourish through her seven grandsons; Amir Ibrahim , Jonathan Cossin, Cory Cossin, Laith Ibrahim , Derek Sheffield, Darren Sheffield, and Alex Howard . She also leaves behind six great-grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of her heart.
Throughout her 86 years, Linda's life was a testament to love, resilience, and unyielding faith. She was known for her vivacious spirit and unwavering compassion. She lived each day as if it were a grand celebration, captivating all with her infectious laughter and zest for life. She never met a stranger, and openly embraced everyone she encountered, offering kindness and understanding without judgment. Her faith in the Lord was steadfast, and she drew strength and grace from her spiritual devotion, which she shared generously with those around her.
A true life enthusiast, Linda's love for people was evident in her lively presence at every gathering—she was indeed the life of the party. Be it through song or dance, her delightful and quirky sense of humor had the ability to bring laughter to any room and will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
We invite family and friends to join us in celebrating Linda's extraordinary life on June 21, 2026, at Coonskin Park Gorman Shelter. We shall gather at Noon to honor the remarkable woman she was, sharing laughs and memories. If you would like to bring a side dish please do so, family will be providing hot dogs and hamburgers.
