Obituary

Leo J. Tate, 85, of Charleston, passed away June 21, 2009 at home after a long battle with cancer. He served in the US Army during WW II, was a retired home builder and attended Charleston Mountain Mission. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Margaret Spradling Tate; sons and daughters-in-law, Randy L. and Cheryl Tate of St. Albans, and Terry W. and Kim Tate of Charleston; granddaughter, Andrea Tate of St. Albans. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday June 24, at the Charleston Mountain Mission, Charleston with the Rev. Fairley McCormick officiating. Burial will be in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
