Laurie Kay Vassel, 63 of Charleston passed away December 19, 2018.
Born September 1, 1955 in Wheeling, West Virginia to the late Elmer and Beverly Freese. Received AB Degree from West Virginia Northern Community College, Wheeling. Laurie was a Registered Nurse having worked at Wheeling Hospital, 12 Oaks Hospital, Houston, Texas and CAMC Memorial where she was head nurse, and was a Member of Elizabeth Memorial Methodist Church.
Surviving is her loving husband, Larry Vassel; son, Jason P. Vassel of Charleston; daughter, Lauren E. Vassel of Louisville, KY.; brothers, Dr. James Freese of Anchorage, Alaska and Thomas Freese of Pittsburgh, PA.
In Lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to Hospice Care, 1606 Kanawha Blvd. W., Charleston, WV 25387.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 1 to 3 PM Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home.
In accordance with her wishes cremation will follow services.
