Larry "Butch" Shamblin, 70 of Sissonville passed away December 7, 2017 accidentally while cutting a tree down at his home.
Butch was a mechanic; he worked on anything with a motor. Loved to hunt and fish, was a wonderful man that would help anybody, and he enjoyed being with his family.
Preceding him in death were his parents Warren and Delsie Shamblin; brothers, Jerry "Buck" Shamblin and Donald "Bo" Shamblin; infant sister, Julie Shamblin.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Shamblin; children, Billie Lopez, and husband Tony of Florida, Roxanna Floyd and husband Travis of Utah; Cable Shamblin and girlfriend Rhoda Boswell and Marissa "Boo Boo" Shamblin and fiancée Cole Prunty; all of Sissonville; brother, Ron Shamblin and wife Lois of Sissonville; sisters, Joyce Miller and husband Frank and Rita Simon and husband John all of Goldtown, Rose Welch and husband Mike "Bubba" of Sissonville. Grandchildren, Brittany Thomas, Gracie "Turtle" Shamblin, Makenna "Tarpon" Shamblin and one on the way Braxton Prunty, and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday December 13, 2017 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with his brother Rev. Ron "Newt" Shamblin officiating. Burial will follow in Hackney Cemetery, Derricks Creek, Sissonville. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
