Karen Jean Parker, 78, of Dunbar passed away August 20, 2018 at her residence.
She was a avid reader and loved her family dearly. Karen was a proofreader for The Charleston Gazette and also worked for Charleston Printing and Marshall College of Graduate Studies. Karen had an enormous vocabulary, loved Crossword Puzzles, Opera and Classical Music. She was of German descent and was fluent in the language.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Carl and Edna Pearl Naus Wright and her brother, Johnny Wright.
Surviving is her loving husband of 50 years, John Parker; son, Kevin Parker and wife Sara of Hurricane; daughter, Lori Loewen and husband Scott of Suwanee, GA; brothers, John and Paul Wright, and sister, Ruth Ann Seltzer.
Also surviving are her grandchildren, Andrew Parker, Aaron Parker, Stephen Patrick Parker, Casey Forrester and Alexander Forrester, who are also left to mourn her passing.
Funeral Services will be 7:00 PM Thursday August 23, 2018 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Minister Ray Humphrey officiating. A Gathering of Family and Friends will begin at 6:00 PM. A Private Family Burial will follow in Grand view Memorial Park, in Dunbar.
