Julius Arlton Gardner, Sr., 69, of Dunbar, passed away on January 12, 2016. Mr. Gardner was a former employee at Rollysons Motor and also Union Carbide. He was a handyman and a collector of odds and ends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius S. and Gladys S. (Cobb) Gardner; and sisters, Sue Wise, Kathleen Parsons, and Ann Young. Survivors include his loving sons, J.R. Gardner and wife, Patricia, and Mark Gardner both of Dunbar; former spouse, Caroline S. Gardner of Dunbar; grandchildren, Brittany Gardner, Tyler Gardner and wife, Macala, and Alainah Gardner; and great-grandson, Elijah Pittman. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Monday, January 18, 2016 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Donald Gatewood officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.
