Judith Ellen Reed, 58, of Charleston went home to be with the Lord, August 30, 2009 . She was a member of Village Chapel Presbyterian Church. She was an animal activist and worked to improve the literarcy of children, and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Judith was preceded in death by her father, Clyde R. Haynes. Surviving are; her husband, Fred Reed; son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Lora Pridemore of Chesapeake; daughter, Jennifer Pridemore-White of Poca; mother, Joni Mary Haynes of Charleston; mother-in-law, Helen Reed of Charleston, sisters, Jan Haynes of Charleston, and Beverly Mitchell of Dublin, California; grandchildren, Shawn and Draven Pridemore, Allazae and Genevieve White, Destiny Doss and Kayleigh Chapman; she is also survived by her two dogs, Sammy and Ray-Ray. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday September 3, at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Marvin Welch and the Rev. Woody Harper officiating. Burial will be in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
