Joyclyn Kay (Jones) Cummings Born September 1, 1951, went to be with the Lord September 4, 2023.
Kay was preceded in death by her mother Mable (Fugate) Jones, father James Denver Jones and nephew J.J. Jones.
Kay leaves behind her two daughters April Dew husband Daniel of Rand, Kasie Macklin of Charleston, sister Mary Lou (Dennis) Baldwin of Charleston, brother Johnny Jones of Charleston. She has two granddaughters, Haliegh and Alexis Macklin and a grandson Michael Dew. She has several nieces and nephews. Great nieces and nephews, and several Great great nieces and nephews.
Kay worked at the Charleston Civic Center for 33 years, where she retired. She was a very loving and caring mother, sister, grandmother and aunt. For the past few years, she resided at Genesis Dunbar Center.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at Genesis Dunbar Center for the love and care shown during this time. Also would like to thank the staff of Hospice Care at CAMC Memorial Hospital.
Funeral service will be 7:00 P.M. Friday, September 8, 2023 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, 1325 W. Washington Street, Charleston with the Pastor John Henderson officiating.
A gathering of family and friends will begin at 6:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
A private memorial will be held for immediate family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Hospice Care.
