Joyce G. Thomas 81, of Charleston passed away May 14, 2019 at Hubbard Hospice House, West.
"Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her." Proverbs 31:28
Joyce worked as a Nurses Aid at St. Francis Hospital. Later in life she worked as an attendant for all the children at Tiny Tikes, and also did Private Duty, taking an active role in raising many children of professional families in and around the Charleston Area. She spent her life investing in others.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Luther and Goldie Buffington Chandler.
Surviving her are her loving husband of 57 years, Carl M. Thomas; daughters, Lisa Harrison and husband Tim of Nitro, Tammy Jenkins and Pastor John of Charleston; sister, Violet Foster of Charleston; granddaughter, Rebecca Stowers and husband Jarrod of Charleston; great grandson, Josiah Stowers.
Celebration of Life will be 1:00 PM Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with her son-in-law, Pastor John Jenkins officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Pocatalico.
