Joseph L. Page 73 of Charleston passed away September 1, 2014 after a long illness at Thomas Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Teamsters Local 175 & 505, where he was a Union steward for about 30 years and retired from Coyne Textile in 2008. He was saved August 31 and God called him home. He always had a lot of friends from his customers at work. Joe had a 1964 ½ Mustang that he started racing at Kanawha Valley Drag Strip, Bristol Tennessee and Riverside Ohio. He retired from drag racing in August of 1981, that was his favorite sport, but then he loved stock car. He was a loving husband for 51 years, wonderful father and grandfather. He never met a stranger. We will miss his laughter, love and the closeness we had together. He was preceded in death by our daughter Shonda Lee Page Drake, parents, Roscoe and Margret McCune Page; brothers, Jerry D. and Michael Page. Those left to remember all the good memories that we all had together and love him very much; wife Barbara Bostic Page; son, Mark Page; grandchildren who loved him very much; Devin Brogan, Brooke McIntyre and Tyler McIntyre; half-sister, Imogene McCune of Michigan; Shirley Tucker of Delaware; brothers, Larry Page and Bob Page . Joe loved Titan a Rottweiler that dearly loved him. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Friday September 5, 2014 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. William K. Berry officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Pocatalico. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services also on Friday.
