John D. Smith, 52, of Charleston passed away August 18, 2009 at home surrounded by his family. He was employed by the City of Charleston Parks and recreation for the last 34 years. He was survived by his loving Wife of 22 years Donna J. Smith; Son, David Brian Smith and his companion Jeanie Peterson of South Charleston; Daughters, Shelia Hinzman and her companion Thomas Phelps. and Tiffany Lattea and her husband Eddie, all of Charleston; Brothers and sisters-in-law, Ralph and Bonnie Smith, Gary and Nancy Smith all of Goldtown; Sisters, Janet Butcher of Columbia, South Carolina, Ruth Spradling of Georgia, and Nancy Stern of Texas. Grandchildren, Breanna and Cody Hinzman, Destiny and Dakota Lattea, Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday August 22, 2009 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. William K.
