John H. Layden, 56, of Charleston, passed away July 21, 2012 at CAMC General Division after a short illness surrounded by his three loving sons. He was an outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. John also enjoyed going to his camp in Clay County. Mr. Layden was preceded in death by his parents, D. Thomas and Phyllis Herold Layden. Surviving him are his loving sons, Chris Layden and his companion, Sarah Long of Nitro and Alan Layden and companion Ashley McClelland and Chuck Layden, both of Charleston; sister, Barbara Hohman and husband, Neal, of Marietta, OH; brothers, Michael Layden and wife, Lumyai, of Stephens City, VA and Donald Layden and wife, Marcie, of Charleston; and grandchildren; Jordan, Rylan and Ali. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday July 25, 2012 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. William K. Berry officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston. Visitation with the family will be 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
