John A. Fling, 75, of Charleston went to be with the Lord on January 28, 2025.

John was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer. He loved sharing his enthusiasm and skills of these sports with his wife, sons and grandsons. John was a member of Rich Fork Baptist Church where he and his wife, Judy, taught a Sunday School Class.

John was born September 4, 1949, in South Charleston to the late Earl A. and Florence Harnest Fling. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister, Alice Watson, two special brothers-in-law, Curtis Watson and Jerry Slater.

With broken hearts John leaves his loving wife and best friend of 55 years, Judy Slater Fling; two sons, John Allen Fling (Julie), and Jason Scott Fling (Rhianna); twelve grandchildren, one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews that he loved very much.

A special Memorial Service will be held, Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Rich Fork Baptist Church, with Pastor Greg Moles officiating.
