Obituary

John Emery Eddy John Emery Eddy, 89, of Yawkey, passed away, November 27, 2012, in Hubbard Hospice House, West, South Charleston. He was a US Navy veteran of WW II, from 1942 to 1946. He served aboard the USS Eisele Destroyer and USS Essex Aircraft Carrier and he trained with British Commandos and American Rangers. He retired from the Oil and Gas Industry, enjoyed hunting, football, stamp and coin collecting. He always liked to be active and especially enjoyed yard work. He was a proud lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. John was preceded in death by his wife Oma Eddy; father John W. Eddy; mother Pearl Eddy; brothers Billie Lane, Elmer Eddy; sisters Mildred Lane, Fern Drake, Ruth Johnson; stepson David Evans. Surviving are his son, Donnie Eddy; daughter Carol Sue Doughty; step-sons, Tommy Lockard, Jimmy Lockard, Freddie Lockard, Bobby Evans; step daughter Billie Jean Shartzer; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday November 30, 2012 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, Charleston with the Rev. William K. Berry officiating. Burial will be in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes, with military graveside rites by American Legion Post No. 61 Clendenin. Visitation will be Thursday 6-8pm at the funeral home.
