Jerry Wayne Hicks, 65, of Sissonville, went home to be with the Lord on January 26, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Hicks was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Jean "Shorty" Hicks; father, John Hicks, Jr.; brother, Robert Steven Hicks; and nephew, Andrew Campbell. Jerry is survived by his loving mother, Trilba Hicks of Charleston; children, Jerry Wayne, II (Alisa Browning) of Morgantown, Laura Hicks of St. Albans, Amanda Hicks of Nitro, Matthew Hicks (Hope) of Cross Lanes, April Thongdara (Ratsamy) of Cross Lanes, and Bobby Lee Anderson, II of Cross Lanes; grandchildren, Christa Nadeene Browning, Kelsey Jean Decker, Marissa Dawn, Jordan Wayne, Miranda Lakole, and Lauren Elizabeth Hicks, Rusty, Dustin, Nick, Brendan and Kami Thongdara, and Monica Jewel Anderson; and sisters, Patricia Haynes, Dreama Smith, Freda Campbell, and Teresa Burgess; and brothers, Johnny, Dana, Carl, and Charles Hicks. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Chaplain Brian Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery, Charleston. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 PM Saturday, also at the funeral home.
