We mourn the passing of Jeffrey Jay Pfost, 70 years old of Charleston, WV a beloved husband, father, Grampy, and friend, who passed away after a short illness at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia.
Jeffrey retired after many years of service with the City of Charleston, working in street department - equipment maintenance, and was also employed with Polaris of Dunbar. He was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to his work.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Janet Pfost, and his father, Lloyd Pfost, Jr.
Left to honor his memory is his wife, Pamela Pfost; his sons, Starlen Davis, Jr. and Jonathan Davis; his nine grandchildren; his sister, Deborah Harmon (Richard); his niece, Audrey Jarrett (Jason); and his nephew, Adam Harmon, along with family members and friends who will miss him dearly. He also leaves behind his beloved cats; Trey, Tigger and Raya - as well as the many stray cats that he cares for daily.
Above all, Jeffrey was a loving husband and devoted father. His greatest joy in life was his family. He was a proud Grampy to Tiara, Taevion, Shalisa, Tajai, Kassidi, Daejon, Tobias, Ahana, and Leiani, all of whom he adored deeply and cherished every moment spent with them.
Jeffrey also enjoyed watching football, especially the WVU Mountaineers, as well as basketball, but most of all NASCAR racing. He created many fond memories during weekly gatherings with his buddies, where they played cornhole and cards while watching various sports on TV.
Jeffrey will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, and the love he gave so freely to those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
The family would also like to thank the doctors and staff at Thomas Memorial Hospital and Ruby Memorial Hospital for their tireless efforts to save his life.
A memorial gathering will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Cunningham Parker Johnson Funeral Home.
