James Elmer Toler 74 of Charleston went home to be with the Lord September 7, 2016 at CAMC Memorial Division. Jim was an Electrician with Local #466 IBEW and a former employee of Nitro Electric. He was a member of Keystone Apostolic Church, having served on the board of directors for many years and was a Musician at the church playing the Mandolin. He was a member of South Charleston Masonic Lodge #168, AF & AM and Scottish Rites Bodies, an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt. Preceding him in death were his parents, Kellis Toler, Sr. and Kathleen Neary Toler; brothers, Kellis Jr., Clyde and Kenneth Toler; sisters, Elizabeth Richardson and Betty Witt. Surviving him is his loving wife of 53 years Shirley Toler; daughters, Michele Smith, husband Isaac of Charleston and Jamelle Anderson, husband Michael, of Coatesville, PA; grandchildren, Ashley Oxley, fiancee Jermaine of Dunbar, Kathleen and Megan Anderson of Coatesville, PA, Jennifer Fields, husband Dustin, of Charleston and Tehya Smith of Charleston and great grandchildren. He was greatly loved by his nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Monday September 12, 2016 at North Charleston Apostolic Church, 2408 6th Avenue, Charleston, with Bishop Gary Johnson and Pastor James Chessor officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes. Visitation with the family will be from 5 to 7 PM Sunday also at the church.
