James Melvin Pritt James Melvin Pritt, 81, of Sissonville, went home to be with the Lord, April 23, 2010 at his residence. He was an Army Air Corp veteran, retired in 1981 from the C & P Telephone Company, and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, Chapter #42. This year he was head of the Kanawha Two Mile reunion committee, and he attended Goldtown Community Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Lilly I. Clendenin Pritt; parents, Elvin and Myrtle Pritt; brother, Marvin Pritt, and a infant brother Norman Bradford Pritt; sisters, Verniece Fox, Madeline Deitz, and Colleen Baldwin. Surviving are his children, Gail Thaxton and husband Lester, Quinton Lee Pritt, and Gregory E. Pritt and wife, Emma "Tutti" all of Sissonville; granddaughter, Leigha Whittington, and great-grandson, Ryan Whittington both of Sissonville; step-grandson, Kevin Lee Given of South Charleston. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 28, at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Al Mendez officiating. Burial will be in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Pocatalico, with military graveside rites by American Legion Post No. 61 Clendenin.
