James "Jimmy" Painter James "Jimmy" Painter, 50, of Charleston, passed away, July 16, 2013 at Duke University Hospital, Durham, North Carolina. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Ellen Jones Painter; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carl and Opal Campbell; brothers, Lawson "Sonny" Painter, and Clinton Painter; sisters, Connie Dundon and Nettie Norman. He worked for Veolia ES Industrial Services for the past 10 years, and was previously employed by Trojan Steel, Taylor and Streigel, and truly enjoyed working with all of his friends and co-workers in Nitro, as well as the employees at the Celanese Plant in Narrows, Virginia. He attended Victory Primitive Advent Christian Church, Sissonville, and Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Durham, North Carolina. He loved boating, camping, four wheel riding, and most of all loved spending time with his family and grandkids. Jimmy gave his gift of friendship to everyone he met and never met a stranger. He truly loved his friends and family. Surviving are his wife, Debra Painter; daughters and sons-in-law, Misty and Jeff Reed, and Amber and Shannon Jones all of South Charleston; grandchildren, Chelsey Priestley and Kaelyn Jones; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Phyllis Painter of Sissonville, Steven Painter of Elkview, and Brenda Fields of Sissonville; sisters, Rita Clark of Sissonville, and Rose Blaylock and husband Bill of Pinch; sisters-in-law, Lisa Painter and Barbara Painter both of Sissonville. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, Charleston, with the Rev. Roger Hammons officiating. Burial will follow in Sissonville Memorial Gardens, Sissonville. Visitation with the family will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Reynolds, and all of Jimmy's caregivers in the pulmonary unit at Duke Hospital, where he was blessed with many wonderful caretakers who truly cared about him.
