James Andrew Larch, 93, of Charleston, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2015. Mr. Larch was a WWII veteran of the US Army, 10th Mountain Division, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant. He served in Italy and earned a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He retired from Consolidated Gas Supply Corporation where he was an engine compression specialist. Mr. Larch was a member of Christ Church United Methodist, Charleston. He was a Mason and member of Kanawha Lodge #20 AF & AM, 33rd degree member of the Scottish Rite Bodies where he served as Almoner, York Rite Bodies, Beni Kedem Shrine where he served on the Directors Staff, and the Royal Jesters. Mr. Larch was preceded in death by his parents, William M. and Lucy (Hammock) Larch; son, Ronald James Larch; and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include his loving wife of 68 years, Virginia Larch of Charleston; daughter, Carol Adams and husband, Willis of Englewood, FL; and sister, Phyllis Amenhauser of Orlando, FL. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, Charleston, with Rev. Dr. Jay Parkins officiating. Burial will follow at Belknap Cemetery, Gassaway, with Masonic graveside services provided by Kanawha Lodge #20 and military honors accorded by American Legion Post #33, Braxton County. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
