James Richard Kanniard was born November 14, 1941 in Point Pleasant, WV.  He went home to be with the Lord on November 7, 2022.

He worked for many years at Charleston Construction, a local Laundromat.  He also was a preacher for some years.

He was preceded in death by his wife Judy Kanniard; parents,  Pearl Jane Spears and Garland Kerr Kanniard; daughter, Valletta Kanniard; brothers, Tommy, Dencil, John and Baby Aaron; sister, Janice Kanniard.

Surviving are children, Vincent J. Kanniard (Jeanette) of Milton, Valissa R. Waugh (Donald) of Fraziers Bottom; Van W. Marcus Kanniard (Donna) of Point Pleasant; Vatina L. Schrock (Terry) of Apple Grove and Vernon T. Kanniard of Point Pleasant; brothers Harold Kanniard and Chucky Jenkins; sisters, Georgia Marcum and Gwyenth Cardenas.  Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren and a host of friends who are also left to mourn his passing.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday November 15, 2022 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Buddy Mairs officiating.  Burial will follow in Mairs Family Cemetery, Sissonville.  Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services.
