James E. Hatcher, Sr. James E. Hatcher, Sr. 77, of Charleston, passed away October 25, 2010, after a short illness. He was the son of the late William and Ada Hatcher; and was also preceded in death by his grandson, Seth Walker. He was a veteran of the US Navy, and retired from Pepsi Cola Bottlers of Nitro, WV, as a general sales manager after 38 years of service. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He was the happiest when he was outdoors working with his hands. He was a loyal member of Salt Hill Baptist Church in Ripley. Surviving are; his loving wife of 60 years, Barbara; children, James E. Hatcher, Jr. of Charleston, Diane Walker of Florida, and Mike Hatcher of Charleston; grandchildren, Sara Smith and James T. Hatcher of California, Dane and Troy Walker of Florida and Cory Hatcher of Charleston; three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, October 29, 2010 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, Charleston, with Dana Randolph officiating. Burial will be in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes. Visitation with the family will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 28, at the funeral home.
