James C. Burns Jr., 66, of Charleston, WV, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. He was born on March 31, 1960, to the late James C. Burns Sr. and Helen L. Burns Daly.

James is survived by his loving fiancé, Carol Haynes of Charleston, WV; five daughters, Dawn Burns of Cross Lanes, WV, Whitney Chambers of Louisville, KY, Heather Wilburn of Louisa, KY, Brittany Chambers of Portsmouth, OH, and Amber Haney of Flemingsburg, KY; and 18 grandchildren.

He is also survived by seven siblings: Belinda Harris of Eleanor, WV, Brenda McCellan of Milton, WV, Susan Johnson of Milton, WV, Jerry Burns of Milton, WV, Donna Page of Cross Lanes, WV,  Robert Alan Burns of Charleston, WV, and Linda McMillion from Charleston, WV.

James will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

May he rest in peace.

Per James’s wishes he will be cremated.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday August 23rd at Heaven's Gateway Cemetery 2829 State Route 34, Winfield WV 25213 beginning at 3:00pm with his brother Jerry Burns officiating the service. All family and friends are welcome to join.
