James C. Burns Jr., 66, of Charleston, WV, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. He was born on March 31, 1960, to the late James C. Burns Sr. and Helen L. Burns Daly.

James is survived by his loving girlfriend, Carol Haynes of Charleston, WV; five daughters, Dawn Burns of Cross Lanes, WV, Whitney Chambers of Louisville, KY, Heather Wilburn of Louisa, KY, Brittnay Chambers of Portsmouth, OH, and Amber Haney of Flemingsburg, KY; and 18 grandchildren.

He is also survived by six siblings: Belinda Harris of Eleanor, WV, Brenda McCellan of Milton, WV, Susan Johnson of Milton, WV, Jerry Burns of Milton, WV, Donna Page of Cross Lanes, WV, and Robert Alan Burns of Charleston, WV.

James will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

May he rest in peace.

Per James’s wishes he will be cremated with a family graveside at a later date.
