James L. Burgess, 74 of Charleston passed away May 1, 2017 at his home.
Jim was retired from Union Carbide and was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Theodore and Arvella Murdock Burgess and step-son, Camron Carpenter.
His is survived by his loving wife, Loretta Burgess; sons, Troy and Scott Burgess; step-son, Dallas Carpenter; step-daughters, Karen Butler, Debbie Coleman and Kimberly McMillion. Several Grandchildren, family and friends are also left to mourn his passing.
In keeping with Jim's wishes his body will be cremated.
There will be a Private Family Gathering held in his honor at a later date.
