Jackie Lee Shamblen
Jackie Lee Shamblen, 80, of Sissonville, passed away, January 13, 2016, at Hubbard Hospice House, due to complications with Alzheimer's Dementia.
He retired from the Steel Laborers Union, worked on the New River Gorge Bridge, and was a lifelong resident of Sissonville.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Shamblen of Newton, and his mother, Goldie Jones Shamblen Melton of Sissonville; sister, Shirley Shamblen Burdette of Sissonville.
Jack is survived by his sister Delphia Elswick of Sissonville; brothers, Arnie ShambIin and wife, Aura of St. Albans, and Ronnie Melton and wife Bonnie of Pinch; several nieces, nephews, and many, many friends.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, Charleston, with the Rev. Roger Hammons officiating. His wishes were to be Cremated, his ashes will be buried at Jones Cemetery, Cicerone.
Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to service, Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family is very grateful to the staff at Cedar Ridge Nursing Center, for their care of Jack during his five year stay at their facility.
