Jackie Ray Hackney, 89, of Ormond Beach Florida, formally of Sissonville West Virginia passed away surrounded by his loving family on June 23, 2025. He was the beloved son of Webster and Goldy Hackney of Sissonville WV, he was a husband to the late Shirley Hackney of Ormond Beach FL, formerly from Merritt West Virginia.

His children are Ray Hackney of Daytona Beach, FL, Patricia Hackney of Bunnell, FL, and Patricia Gibson who also precedes him in death. Stepson Chad Hackney of Pinch WV. His granddaughters Cynthia and Crystal Hackney of Ormond Beach FL, Tracey Russell of Belle WV, Laura King of Charleston, WV, Gary King Jr of Charleston WV, Jason King of Charleston WV, Shawn and Scotty Hackney of Charleston WV. His great grandchildren, Kyle, Camren, Alyssa, Kay, and a dozen more in the Charleston area as well as the surrounding area. And 3 great great grandchildren.

He moved to Ormond Beach FL back in the 60's where he became a Autobody repair man and worked for himself. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Korna Fire Department for over a decade. Later in life he took up buying and selling antique cars and restoring them. But most of his life he enjoyed taking the checkered flag in his orange and black #13 Black cat racecar. And some say the King of Backwards racing. He will be missed and loved by so many for years to come.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00pm on Thursday June 26, 2025, at Cunningham Parker Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Hackney Cemetery.
