Jack E. Spearman Jack E. Spearman, 78, of Charleston, joined Jesus in heaven on Thursday, March 15, 2012. Jack was born February 1, 1934 in Greenwood, Arkansas to M.E. and Eva Spearman, who preceded him in death. He has two brothers, Jesse Spearman of Greenwood, Arkansas and Kenny Spearman of Cookson, Oklahoma; sister, Lynda King of Oklahoma. Jack graduated from Richwood High School and joined the United States Marine Corps in 1953. He met the love of his life, by being kind to a fellow marine and giving him a ride home. There he met his future wife, Patricia Vannoy. They were married May 23, 1955. In 2005 they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. After graduating from West Virginia State College, he had several jobs in the lumber business, first working for Clendenin Lumber, Wright and Bauchman, then finishing his long career in 1997, as manager of Moore's Lumber Company. Jack and Patsy were members of Davis Memorial Missionary Baptist Church. Jack is survived by his wife, Patsy; daughter, Jacky King and husband Ronald, Tammy Payne and husband, Gary, Cindy Spearman, Jennifer Elkins and husband, Scott; eight grandchildren, Cpt. Nathaniel King, with the US Army,Rachel Legacy, Gary and Lance Cpl. Joseph Payne with the US Marine Corps, Chris Bowen and Jack Whitlatch, Tori and Ally Elkins; one great-granddaughter, Bailee King. Jack was passionate about three things; his family, fishing and NASCAR. Every summer he took his family to Sutton Lake for camping, fishing and stories around the campfire. He was a previous member of Bass Masters and competed and winning in many tournaments. Every Sunday he took his wife to church, but he was the first one out the door to get home to his big screen and NASCAR. Jack's celebration into heaven will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2012, lead by, Pastor Roger Vannoy, at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, Charleston. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar, following the service. The viewing will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 19, at the funeral home.
