Obituary

Ivey "I.B." Reed, 72, of Marmet passed away February 9, 2012 after a long illness. I.B. was the former owner of Bowen-Reed Furniture of Charleston and Danville, and Retired from the Department of Corrections as Associate Warden of Administration. He was a 1957 Graduate of Charleston High School and obtained his Bachelor's Degree from Morris Harvey College, now the University of Charleston. He was a member of Morris Memorial United Methodist Church, the Marmet Vol. Fire Dept., where he was on the Board of Directors, the Salina Lodge #27, AF & AM Malden, and the Scottish Rite Bodies. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted M. and Marguerite Wells Reed, and his sister, Joyce Sullivan. I.B. is survived by his wife Linda Marion Reed; son, Kent Reed and wife Tami of Charleston; daughters, Kim Snodgrass of Marmet and Carrie Sparks of Belle; brother, Allen Reed of Scott Depot; sister, Brenda Wiggins and husband Bill of Snellville, Georgia; grandchildren, Kelsea and Keaton Snodgrass, Taylor and Lauren Sparks, and Donovan, Keiffer and Trenton Reed; aunts, Edith Jarrett, Edith Perkins and Edith Reed, all of North Carolina; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews are also left to mourn his passing. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday February 18, 2012 at Morris Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Richard DeQuaise officiating.
