Harry Lee Shaffer, Jr. 70 of Charleston went home to be with the Lord August 24, 2014. Harry was a retired processor with the Broughton Dairy Company and a former employee of Mardi Gras Casino. He was a loving husband, dad, papaw and great papaw. Preceding him in death were his parents Harry Lee Shaffer, Sr., and Laurina Mae Brogan Shaffer, brothers, Robert and Jackie Shaffer and his great grandson Jaxen Ray. Survivors include his loving wife Janet Gail Duncan Shaffer; sons, Kevin Shaffer and wife Trina of South Charleston and Steve Shaffer and wife Lisa of Sissonville; daughters, Sue Perry and husband Fred of Calvert City, Kentucky and Trena Bryant and husband John of Midland, Michigan; sisters, Mary Ann Wilson and husband Freeman of Richmond, Virginia and Betty Lou Dorsey and husband Dean of Chesapeake, WV. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and a host of friends who are also left to mourn his passing. He will be especially missed by his special buddy, Zach, his grandson. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Thursday August 28, 2014 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Harold Burton. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Pocatalico. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday August 27, 2014 also at the funeral home.
