Harold Richard Taylor, Sr. Harold Richard Taylor, Sr., 84, of Sissonville, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday October 5, 2013, surrounded by his family. He was born September 25, 1929 in Sissonville, and the late Robert Ernest and Hazel Olive Walker Taylor. Harold served in the US Army and was retired from Bert Wolfe Ford, with over 35 years of service. He was a member of the Charleston Mountain Mission, a beloved husband, a devoted father, and loving grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Robinson Taylor; brother, Eldon Taylor, and sisters, Lettie Neal and Rachel Walker. Harold is survived by, his sons, Harold R. "Rick" Taylor, Jr. and wife, Linda, and Paul D. Taylor and wife, Nancy; grandchildren, Jenifer Taylor, Richard Taylor, Joshua Taylor, Stephen Taylor and Dale Price; great-grandchildren, Laila Arthur, Payton Taylor, Zoe Taylor and Barrett Taylor; brothers, Ernest, Charles and Dorsel; sister, Kaye Walker Funeral Service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, Charleston, with the Rev. Fairley McCormick officiating. Burial will be in the Robinson Family Cemetery, Sissonville. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to service Tuesday at the funeral home.
