Harold Ray Slater, 74 of Charleston passed away March 12, 2019 at home after a long illness.
Harold was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandchildren, and a Carpenter by trade.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Osdell and Florence Slater; sister, Beulah Clendenin and Marie Elswick; brothers, Jospeh, Osdell Teddy and Nathan Slater; father-in-law, Gene Fowler.
Surviving are his loving wife Vickie of Charleston; sons, Harold Jr., of Utah, Hank and Michael of St. Albans, Mark Slater of Charleston and Travis Fields of Sissonville; daughter, Michelle Slater of Tennessee; brothers, James Slater; sisters, Virgie Facemyer, Betty Estep and Linda Ennis. Our grandson Evan Lee Slater, who lived with us and we thought of as ours; mother-in-law, Linda Fowler, brother, Jimmy Fowler and his wife Mary Ann Fowler and their children Sarah and Adam; sister, Lisa Fowler Holmes and Brittany Fowler.
Also surviving are 15 great grandchildren, 3 granddaughters and 2 grandsons and many great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, who are also left to mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Cliff Thaxton officiating. Burial will be Private. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services, also on Friday.
