Harold Dillard Saunders, 78, of Cross Lanes, passed away November 11, 2009 at Select Specialty Hospital at St. Francis Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Rosie (Manning) Saunders. Survivors include his son, Jamie Saunders of Myrtle Beach, SC; sister, Lillian Kersey of Cross Lanes; half-brother, Jack Saunders of Nitro; niece and caregiver, Jan McClure of Cross Lanes; and a multitude of nieces and nephews. Mr. Saunders was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He enjoyed gardening, tractors and heavy equipment. He also worked at various trades during his lifetime in the Kanawha Valley area. The Saunders family wishes to express sincere thanks to the entire staff of Select Specialty Hospital at St. Francis. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday November 14, 2009 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Donnie Kiser officiating. Burial will be at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes. Visitation with the family will be Friday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
