Obituary

Guy F. Bailey Guy F. Bailey, 79, of Charleston, passed away Monday, November 5, 2012. He was a retired truck driver with 33 years of service for Coastal Tank Lines, Chemical Leamans and Liquid Transport Corporation, where he retired from in 1995. Guy was also retired from Teamsters Local No. 175. He was known to all on the CB as "Billy Goat". He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie No. 519. He served his country during the Korean Conflict in the Navy and was the fifth man to walk aboard the newly commissioned USS Northhampton CLC-l. Guy was preceded in death by his parents, Elbon Morrison Bailey and Willie Mae Bailey; son, Lee Allen Bailey; sister, Virginia "Ginny" Bailey Wirtz, brothers, Wilbur Bailey and Homer Bailey. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Delores "Corky" Bailey; son and daughter-in-law, Howard and Kimberly of Charleston; daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Christopher Buckner of Beckley; grandsons, Franklin Buckner and Lee Bailey; granddaughters, Lindsay Bailey and Bailey Buckner; special nephew, William "Bill" Leonard, who he helped raise, and his wife, Sandra of Ponchatula, LA; sisters, Esther Burks and Jackie Hall of Springfield, OH. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2012 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, Charleston, with the Rev. Paul Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Bailey-Carpenter Cemetery, Charleston, with military graveside rites. Visitation with the family will be from 12:00 p.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
