Goldie Helena Gravely 76 of Charleston passed away January 29, 2014 at St. Frances E.R. Charleston. Goldie was an Adult Care Giver for over 40 years. Preceding her in death were her parents Ernest Albert and Edith Elizabeth Morris Townsend; husband Edward E. Gravely; grandson, Joseph "Joey" Gravely; brothers, Paul, Ernest, Jr., Donald and Ronald Townsend. Survivors include her sons, Paul Gravely, Sr., and wife Edith; Ronald Lee Gravely and wife Diane; daughters, Georgia Dunlap and husband William and Niomia Martin all of Charleston; brothers, Bill Townsend of Virginia; Albert Townsend and Delbert Townsend both of Charleston; sister, Virginia Salser of Charleston. Nine Grandchildren and several Great Grand and Great Great Grandchildren. And numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who are also left to mourn her passing. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday February 1, 2014 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Pete Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services on Saturday.
