Gladys Short 60 of Charleston passed away January 24, 2014 at Thomas Memorial Hospital. She was the Former Owner/Operator of A-1 Used Furniture and Appliance, enjoyed and was an Avid Bingo Player. Preceding her in death was her parents Miles and Hattie Elswick Martin; brother, Lovell Martin and sister Gretta Childers. Survivors include her husband Charles Short, Sr., of Charleston; sons, Scott Short and Samantha of Charleston; Charles Short Jr., and Amber of Madison and Todd Short and Fiancée Amber of South Charleston; brother, Richard Martin of Charleston; sisters, Inez Robinson of Nevada and Dawn Davis of Texas; cousin, Russell Childers of Charleston and Nephew Rusty of Charleston. Grandchildren, Haleigh, Trenton, Kyra, Alexis, Avah and Hayden. Memorial Services will be 7:00 PM Monday January 27, 2014 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Wriston officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services also on Monday.
