Gerald "Pete" Rhodes went home to be with Jesus on May 17, 2024 at CAMC General Hospital.

He will be sadly missed by a multitude of family and friends.

Pete was born May 9, 1933 in Charleston. He pastored many churches in West Virginia and was pastor of Mountain Community Church upon his death. He retired from General Electric.

Pete loved everything to do with serving his Lord and Savior, especially preaching, testifying, and talking to people. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was known for sharing produce from his gardens with friends and strangers alike. Pete loved people and never met a stranger.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ruby Rhodes; son, Gerald "Jerry" Rhodes, Jr.; 6 brothers and 2 sisters; the mother of his children, Jeanie Rhodes.

Pete is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Rhodes; daughter, Connie and Jerry Reed of Charleston; Step-son, Melvin "Todd" and Angie Miller of Nitro; and brother, Kenneth and Cheryl Rhodes.

Service will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, 1325 W. Washington Street, Charleston with Reverend John Mullins officiating.  Entombment will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville.

A gathering of family and friends will begin at Noon Thursday at the funeral home.
