George L. Henderson, Jr.

On October 26, 1939 George L. Junior was born to George L. Henderson, Sr. and Mildred Edwards Henderson.  He was educated in a public school system where he attended Garnett High School and graduated from West Virginia State College where he graduated with his Masters Degree in Psychology.  He served as a member of the Charleston Police Department for 30+ years where he obtained the rank of Lieutenant.  Upon retirement he became a Police Civil Service Commissioner.  Left to cherish his memories are; wife, Gail Frances Henderson; sons, George L. Henderson, III and Shawn Scott; daughters, Angie Robinson, Christy Henderson and Farrah Henderson deceased.  He's also survived by three grandchildren George L. Henderson IV, Cerina Henderson, Aknycia Henderson.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday August 17, 2022 at First Baptist Church, Charleston.  Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services.  Burial with Military Honors will follow in Springhill Cemetery, Charleston.
