Geneva K. Clendenin, 89, of Sissonville, went home to be with the Lord on August 29, 2015. Geneva was a member of Sunlight Missionary Baptist Church and loved attending services when she was able. She was also a former "Granny" for the Kanawha County Schools. Preceding her in death were her husband, Kemp W. Clendenin; parents, Grant and Hazel Null; and several brothers and sisters. Surviving are her loving daughters, Mary Spencer and husband, Charlie of Sissonville, and Sandra Nutter and husband, Bobby of Ripley; son, Roy Clendenin of Sissonville; grandchildren, Nathan Spencer and Kathy Yvonne Fields; and great-grandchildren, Tyler Spencer, Nathaniel and Matthew Nutter, and Gabriel Fields. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Blackwell officiating. Private family burial will follow at Clendenin Cemetery, Sissonville. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to service time at the funeral home.
