Obituary

Garnett Parks, 79, of Charleston passed away June 28, 2011. Garnett was born at Lick Creek, Putnam County, a Graduate of Hurricane High School, and worked in the Banking and Retail Industries. She met her husband of 43 years Charles R. Parks who drove her to work daily on the Greyhound Bus. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in her youth, and later became a member of Bream Memorial Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles R. Parks. Surviving her are, son, Chuck Parks and Euell; brother, Carl Carpenter and wife Vada; sister-in-law, Audrey Carpenter; brother-in-law, Eldon Roth; niece, Debra Carpenter; nephews, Phillip, Tim and Greg Carpenter, Aunt, Mildren Lambert. Graveside Services and Burial will be 2:00 PM Saturday, July 2, 2011, at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Turkey Creek, Putnam County with the Rev. William K. "Bill" Berry officiating.
