Fred L. Nester, 81, of Pocatalico, met the hands of Jesus on September 1, 2014. Fred was a well-known water well driller for 28 years. He was a member of Community Chapel Church, Cross Lanes and loved to hunt and fish. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence H. and Margie Marie Nester; five brothers; and one sister. Survivors include his loving children, Brad Nester and wife, Donna of Charleston, Annette Pretzel and husband, Dave of Bruceton Mills, and Gigi Brabeck and husband, Dan of Portland, OR; brother, George Nester and wife, Mary of Orlando, FL; sisters, Erma Fisher-Dean of Dunbar, Betty Phillips-Fisher of Pocatalico, and Patty Smoot and husband, Jerry of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Adam, Brannon, Billy, Arlena, Erica, Andrea, Rachel, Tyler and Sara; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with his grandson, Pastor Adam Nester, officiating. Burial will follow at Staugon Cemetery, Pocatalico. Visitation with the family will be Friday from 6 - 8 pm at the funeral home.
