Franklin Perry Carney 82 of South Charleston passed away April 24, 2014 at Hubbard Hospice House West, South Charleston. He was born April 1, 1932 son of the late Ivan and Lessie Higginbotham Carney. Preceding him in death were his parents, Wife, Dorothy Eleanor Carney and his three brothers and sisters. Franklin was an Army Corporal having served in the Korean Conflict; he also loved boxing and had fought in the Golden Gloves. Franklin was a Carpet and Floor Installer for 56 years by trade, having worked at Parsons Floor Covering; General Floor Covering; Professional Floor and Wall Covering; Keeling's Floor Covering and Andrews Floor Covering. Survivors include his son Christopher Carney and wife Robin of Hurricane; daughter, Susan Carney of Charleston and his grandson, Dalton Carney. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday April 26, 2014 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Pocatalico. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services on Saturday.
