Frances Ellen Hissom, 82, of Sissonville went to be with the Lord on October 9, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Frances was born April 18, 1941 in Charleston to the late Ira and Cora Caudill Evans.  In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, (Charles Lester Hissom, Sr.), son (Barry Jay), siblings (Early Evans, Dolly Payne, Wron Evans, and Gladys Young).

Left to cherish her memory are her children, her one and only daughter, Brenda F. Koontz (David); sons, Charles L. Hissom, Jr. (Sandy) and Chris L. Hissom; eight beloved grandchildren, Melodie Robinson, Karla Moyer (Bryant), Anthony Koontz, Tabitha Ellis (Justin), Travis Koontz, Mara Thompson (Zach), Taylor Casto (Nick), Hunter Hissom (Savannah); twelve great-grandchildren, Aiden, Lydia, Jace, Payton, Abi, Karter, Bryant, Ezekiel, Isaiah, Ezra, Zyla, and Briggs; siblings, Cephas Evans, and Helen Casto; with numerous nieces and nephews. Frances will be loved and missed by many, including lifelong friend, Nancy Merical.

Frances was a member of the Calvary Church of the Nazarene. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She loved singing in the choir, painting, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends. Frances and Charles spent many summers camping and boating on Burnsville Lake.

A memorial service will be held at Calvary Church of the Nazarene, Charleston W.V. on Monday, October 16, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Nicholas Casto officiating.
